Borris Vocational School

Board of Management

In the spirit of partnership, Borris Vocational School has established a Board of Management on behalf of and in cooperation with Kilkenny and Carlow ETB for the benefit of the students and their parents and to provide an appropriate education for each student at the school.
The board consists of ETB Committee Members, Parent Nominees and Staff Nominees.
The primary role of the board of management is one of governance. Governance is about providing direction and oversight for a school while ensuring that the rights of all members of the school community are upheld and the school is accountable for its work.
The function of the board may, in the main, be categorised under three different headings.
  • Policy setting and strategic planning
  • Monitoring the implementation of policy, strategy and plans
  • Supporting the principal and his/her staff
