Our first and second years enjoyed a great day at SETU Arena for the South Leinster Track and Field. Well done to Aoibhlinn, winning fold in the high jump. Thanks for Ms K Walsh for all her hard work with the team.

Well done to all students involved in the Cross-Country relay meet in Carlow yesterday. A special mention to Nikki Ryan for stepping in last minute to the Senior team and to Tom Murphy who not only did a fantastic run for the Junior boys, but who also stepped in mid race and helped the Senior boys finish in an impressive 3rd place.

The BVS Athletics and Cross Country Teams are currently run by Mrs Walsh. Last year they competed in the South Leinster Championship in Carlow IT, with Rachel Gardiner having great success coming 1st in the shotput and 2nd in the discus. She then went on to be placed 2nd in the Leinster Finals in shotput and 4th in discuss. This year there will be exciting opportunities for students to represent the school in a variety of track and field events including, 100m, relay, shot put, javelin, hurdles, high jump and cross country.
